To seek union with God through prayer and penance and the total gift of self is the
primary purpose of our life. Nevertheless, spiritual apostolates (See Apostolate)
and material simplicity are essential elements of our life.
While our call is to a specific mode of life, it is unquestionably Religious life
in the Church–a vowed life of evangelical poverty, consecrated chastity, and Christlike
“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever loves
son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take up his
cross and come after me is not worthy of me.” (Matt. 10:37-38)
